With it being Midsummer’s Day today, it’s time to take stock of the year so far and highlight the major SPR events coming your way over the summer!

We’ve already had two great social events – King Pin Bowling and the Annual Pub Quiz – two hugely interesting site visits – Bluewater and The Lexicon – and three thought-provoking seminars covering topics as vast as how retail trends are changing the property market, how residential and industrial property is competing for space and the Nick Tyrrell prize-winning paper on sustainable buildings.  If you missed any of these events, you can catch up on all of them at our “blogs” page, here. Slides from this week’s second retail seminar, “Technology, the make or break of retail?” are now available and a blog update will be available very soon. 

We also launched the new SPR Research Prize, with a call for papers – submissions are still encouraged up to the closing date, the 31st July 2018. As a new prize, we’re looking for your support to ensure that good quality research is put forward, meaning that readers, colleagues and authors are all welcome to submit research or let us know about a top-notch paper that you’ve read.
