SPR Roundtable - ESG Data

These roundtable discussions are small, interactive gatherings of SPR members in company boardrooms/meeting rooms to discuss, debate & learn about topical issues.

Our next roundtable is on ESG data and is kindly hosted by Bayes Business School. ESG considerations have continued to rise up investors’ lists of priorities over recent years and the subject is sure to gain even more prominence in the future. As ESG-specific teams grow across the industry, property researchers are facing new data sources and terminologies. This risks undermining what should be a natural collaboration between traditional research and ESG-specific practitioners. It highlights the wide variety of metrics, methodologies, and approaches that, while valid, contribute to disparate outcomes, adding to a range of ESG investment practices that, in aggregate, arrive at an industry consensus on the performance of high-ESG portfolios, which may remain open to interpretation.

This session will include a short presentation led by Robbie Epsom (CBRE IM), Chlump Chatkupt (Placemake.io) and Yi Wu (University of Reading) on progress and challenges before having the opportunity to discuss and ask questions whilst enjoying coffee and croissants.

No prior knowledge of the subject is required, just a willingness to engage with fellow researchers.

Please note that this is a limited attendance event and spaces will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
